Going away to a retreat at least once a year is a wonderful way to experience silence.
It may be more difficult at home, especially if you have young children. Wherever
and however you can, it’s good to make the space in your life for silence. Perhaps
you can ask for help with it from a neighbor or a friend. You can even trade times
when you help
